Corneal Cross Linking

Keratoconus is a progressive thinning of the cornea that can cause devastating vision changes. A relatively new, FDA-approved procedure called Corneal Cross-linking (CXL) can be performed to stabilize the cornea and slow the progression of the disease. Our optometrists work with corneal specialists to determine which patients may benefit from this procedure, and take care of the patients in the postoperative period.

For patients with varying severity of the disease, our doctors utilize specialty contact lenses that have the potential to improve quality of vision beyond anything achievable using spectacles and traditional contact lenses.
